Change your Mind, Change your Life
I have been known to do things a little differently. People tell me I'm a unique individual. Aptitude tests tell me I'm a Trendsetter. I have learned to accept these all as parts of the whole me.

RCRT, FST, PSS, PTS
Once ranked 5th in Canada for Triple Jump, winning meets and setting records across North America as a Varsity Track Athlete at the University level. In 2001 injuries sidelined me from pursuing my dreams of competing professionally at the Olympic level.
I refocused my focus to Personal Training in after "retiring" and I sucked at it. I really was a horrible trainer! 🙃 I tried to train everyone the same way I trained myself. But there is no, 1 size fits all when it comes to bodies.
So I took a long break from fitness to work in the corporate environment and came back to it in 2013.
Through taking lots of courses that compliment each other and putting 100s of practice hours in. I came to understand that flexibility comes from a combination of mobility and strength. I continued to study and grow my knowledge, expanding into manual therapy to bring my clients to levels they never knew they could reach.
Devons’ Why.
I was a completely different trainer. I was a lot older and tried to understand my clients needs and bodies better. In chasing my own goals I found more motivation to help others.
After working really hard to get super lean, I realized it was less about the weight loss and more about the effort, the achievement of getting strong and healthy! I made a plan and I committed to it. My confidence and strength had increased, my chronic acid reflux was gone, my back pain was minimized but I wanted more. I wanted to help others feel the same way I was feeling.

From patient to therapist, I have always been intrigued with how we can keep the body functioning at it's most optimal level. Working with athletes, regular exercises, and clients in Injury Prevention, Recovery and Rehabilitation.
I see health and wellness as a form of therapy. Using my fitness knowledge along with my Sociology degree and extensive knowledge of how the body moves, to not only help individuals get fit and de-stress, but to communicate with them the "why" of what they are doing.
For those of us who are not naturally flexible, we need to work at it!
I went from NOT being able to touch my toes to almost doing the splits (Still a work in Progress 🙃).
